  2. Kyle Paige says:

    Awesome overall sound quality!

    • Ken Simpson says:

      Thanks Kyle!

That’s very nice to hear! The biggest complaints I get about this film are to do with the sound mixing, so I’m glad to hear someone compliment it.

      Many, many thanks!

      Ken

  3. two thumbs up. Where’s the feature length? LOL

  4. Nic says:

The Directing was Almost Perfect. Nice work

  5. Yancey Arias says:

Very well done! Excellent use of $1200 . I hope you earn 500x that. The girl in the bathroom- Very impressed with her commitment in that very short time. No small parts. Only Small actors. She gave the story a lift, and gave the lead actor something real to deal with. Great music, cinematography, and sound design. The plot was reminiscent of Bruce Willis character in Pulp Fiction, and Brad Pitt’s role in snatch. Both great movies to model. Good luck with the rest of your projects.

Thanks so much for your comment, Yancey!

Yeah, Ola did a terrific job, not just a talented but super nice to boot! Our feature film “Headcase” (of which this short is a prequel to) should be distributed sometime this summer/fall and features several of the same characters.

      Ken

  6. This has a very Guy Ritchie polished feel, which I’m sure you’ve heard before.
Great colours, great everything. Beautiful work, man.

  7. Laurie says:

This was very good Thirdreel is a great outlet for up and coming filmmakers

  8. Exciting!!! I’m impressed. We all want your contact information and where you are just so we can claim to have known you before you BLOW UP!! Don’t forget about us. It has that Guy Richie feel to it. I want to work with you. My husband loves Snatch and this kinda reminds me of that kind of movie just a little grittier. Love the music. Its all love, love, love. Way to go!!!!!!!!!

      Hey Dannette

Thanks so much for the kind words! This short is actually a prequel starring some of the characters from my feature film debut, Headcase. Headcase should be release by the summer of this year.

      Thanks again for the compliments!

      K.

  9. Really liked this flick. I think it would make a great feature film or better yet a series on Showtime or HBO. Mickey could be the anti-hero ala Tony Soprano or Dexter. Good job Ken Simpson!
